Southwold is one of Suffolk’s most popular tourist attractions, well known for its lighthouse and pier.

The town center features many independent shops offering wares from designer clothes and accessories to locally sourced foodstuffs and preserves.

Adnams Brewery is based here and there is a large selection of public houses, restaurants and cafes.

There is a museum in Southwold as well as the Electric Picture palace and St Edmund’s Church.

Southwold features beautiful clean beaches and postcard-picturesque views of colourfully painted beach huts lining the beach front.

Visitors can climb the 113 steps of the lighthouse spiral staircase to get a better view of Southwold.


Views of Southwold are well known with British children thanks to the children’s TV show “Grandpa in my pocket”.

Rushmere St Andrew

Rushmere St Andrew is a small village located east of Ipswich and features a common that is home to a golf club.

Rushmere St Andrew is popular with walkers and cyclists. Visitors passing through can take in the local duck pond before heading out on the 60-mile Sandhills Walk that will take you to Southwold.

The village is also home to Rushmere Sports Club, Ipswich Town FC’s training ground and Ipswich Rugby Club.
